1. PS2 shares a worldwide launcher, you can access EU servers from it just like normal.

2. That extra 8 gigs of data is a collection of patches since release.

just chill out & download the patches & you should be able to play

No and No

Yesterday i download the Non steam launcher, it was 8.5 GB

After i downloaded that i was able to play.

Today i deleted the non steam PS2 and started to download the Steam Ps2. That was 13 GB.

When i downloaded that 13 GB i could not login?, then i saw the Murican flag downthere and i changed to the English one. then it wanted to download 8 gigs...

So i deleted all that 13 GB i recently downloaded and started the working Non steam launcher.

Thats it, Steam cant fuckign see that i live in Europe and not America

GG steam , took 3 hours from my life for that 13 Gb of bullshit...

IF this dont work i quit PS2

You used to play on the European PS2(ProBienSat) right?

Go to https://www.planetside2.com/register and make a new account if you want to play on SOE's US one.

Or,just play on the European one.

Don't play Planetside 2 through Steam,it's simply a bad idea.

But then my ping will be too high right? if i play on US one. and i also lose everything i worked for..... so not so good idea...

Why is it a bad idea to download it from steam?.

@ViruZ_HUN

Try this :

go to Steam\steamapps\common\PlanetSide 2 and open LaunchPad.ini and at the end, add "environment=psg" (without quotes of course) if you already have "environment=something" just change it to "environment=psg" and you'll be able to log in.

  • 2 weeks later...

@ViruZ_HUN

Try this :

I had this problem, but in the complete opposite way; I lived in US and it set my reigion to UK and kept saying my account wasn't valid, I did what the instructions said, but instead of ADDING "environment=psg"; I removed it, because it was already added to the document, and it was fixed! I wanted to reply to help other people who might have had the same problem as me to find this.

I'm pretty sure steam has the original game files before all the updates, so then you patch 8gb of game updates, and steam overwrites the old unnecessary files.

If that makes sense. It does in my head.

I can be a cynical a**hole at times. I apologize if I cause any offence at those time. I also occasionally have issues communicating my point. Extreme introversion + Photographic memory + Some other things.
