Motherboard / BIOS OC problem

Go to solution Solved by melete,

I think i3s are limited to 2400MHz on B360/B365.

So i recently bought a B365M PRO-VDH. I'm using an i3-9100f with it.
The problem is that i use HyperX 2666mhz ram and it's locked at 2400mhz.
I saw that the motherboard supports it but even with XMP on, it's still locked at 2400.
All i can see is PCH Limit: 2400mhz. I updated to the latest bios, still no fix.

i use Kingston 2x4 GB, DDR4, 2666, CL15

I bought 2 of those kits so it's 16GB total.

Is it supposed to be like this? Please help me.

Ah i just saw it... Well, i guess i wasted couple of bucks for faster ram. Does it actually matter? Will i lose any performance?

I doubt it will make much of a difference in real world use.
