RAM decision help

Hello,

 

I need some help choosing the best RAM for my system. I will be using AMD Ryzen 2700x paired with Asus ROG STRIX X470-F and MSI GTX 1060. I have ordered both G.Skill Trident (For AMD) 3200 and 3600, I originally ordered the 3600 because the 3200 was on backordered and the 3600 was cheaper, but after a quick glance I saw that once you get past 3200 with the Ryzen 2700x you may start to see diminishing returns. So I was wondering if the LTT community could give me some input on which RAM setup would be optimal.

what CAS timings do the kits have and how much did they cos?

The 3600: Timing 18-22-22-42 CAS Latency 18 $75

The 3200: Timing 16-18-18-38, CAS Latency 16 $85

they will offer similar performance. I'd go with the cheapest.

you will be able through manual overclocking to get something like 3200 14-16-16-32 with either kit.
