Hello! I have a really, really old rig atm - gf9600GT/C2D e8400/4gb ram/1920x1200 monitor (works surprisingly well with Ubuntu :P) and I would like to upgrade.  What do you think about this config? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2PIZd I already have Cooler Master HAF XB EVO with a 200mm top fan and stock front fans. :) The only thing that I dont really get is the kaveri dual graphics thingamajig. I couldn't find any info about gpu compatibility on the official AMD site or forums. Would R7 260X work in crossfire with the APU or is it only for 240/250?

Sorry for bad english :)

A $1000 APU build almost makes no sense. Also, crossfiring the R7 260X with the APU is a bad idea. This is my recommendation for $1000. I think it'll give you a much better gaming experience.

1) CPU - 4670K is better than the APU in almost every single way.
2) Cooler - AIOs still make little sense, their price to performance ratio is terrible, you'll probably get 200 MHz or so more on an AIO.
3) Memory - You don't need 16GB of RAM, 8GB is all you need.
4) Storage - the SSDNow V300 is just as good as the HyperX, it's not like you're going to notice the extra speed. Feel free to replace with something else though.
5) GPU - I picked an R9 280X, which is a good sweet-spot gaming card. Your R7 card is a really bad value proposition, just please, don't buy it :P
6) PSU - PSU you picked is complete overkill, this is a good quality Seasonic unit that is semi-modular and is of the right wattage.

All for the same price too!

Just pick whatever case you want to go with it if the budget is $1000 as you make it seem like.

Well it's mostly for games like Civ V, WoW, Dota2 but I'd like to play something newer like BF4 once in a while. :)
