I‘ve recently built a Gigabyte 1660 Super into my system and it works perfectly however as the card gets under heavy load and the fans start spinning faster it starts rattling quite heavily which is very loud and i‘m concerned that it will damage my card. Is there a fix to this issue or will i need to rma my card?

Is the entire card rattling? buy some cardboard washers for the mount screw. Or make one. If it's the fan doing it itself and is rattling the entire fan mount, it might just be the fan bearings in which case you should either RMA the card or see if you can get the manufacturer to send you a replacement fan if it's user-installable. Or you could try your luck and replace the fan yourself with an after-market fan.

I probably recommend against removing the OEM cooling unless you're okay with voiding the warranty and potentially killing the card though.
