So I have this laptop the Asus fx505gt Gaming laptop.  It comes with some custom hotkeys such as the fn + f5 for fan control which typically tells me which mode I'm on (Silent , Balanced and turbo) however recently whenever I use the hotkey my fan will change accordingly but I don't know what mode it is on and it doesn't display it anymore. After rebooting the laptop I still have this issue. Anyone know how to fix it?

You can try using SpeedFan http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php

for software control of your fans.

(Does it even matter if u cant see the mode cuz they are all for mostly noise adjustment and you can just figure out by hearing.)

Check from Windows notification manager, if you have set some silent mode on. Those overlays are from laptops drivers/utilities, not from Windows. So if there has been update, that might cause it.
