Using Hangouts Dialer while running other apps?

Hello,

 
Yesterday I downloaded Dialer for the first time, it was good.
I could make calls while also Chrome browsing, YouTube watching, Candy Crush playing, etc.
But today whenever I try to use other apps while making a call the Dialer will go silent.
 
What should I do?
 
Using a Samsung Galaxy Tab A.
