So DP2 and 3 isn't working at all. The PC has to be off first. Monitors are plugged in, then PC turns on so it detects correctly.

Some other options can try out is, remove the card and plug it back in or try another PCIe x16 slot (if your board has them).

Thank you for your help guys I think a mixture of a fresh install of driver software and turning everything off and plugging it back in solved the issue. :)

I guess the simple solution worked...

Interest problem

So I have a GTX 1080, where Displayport (dp) 1 works fine and so does DVI.

DP2 & 3 have power but won't display. I know they have power as when I put them into a display switch and remove power from the monitor, the light on the switch remains on.

Note

I have done driver updates and role-back to previous versions and done a firmware update.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I unpluged the monitor from the wall when testing to see if the cable was powered, how else could the switch light up if it is not from the GPU?

What switch, what 1080 do you have, and what are you trying to setup?

A switch that allows you to have multiply hdmi inputs into one monitor port which you can then cycle through

The light most likely means there is a signal or it's being detected, it's not powered. Have you tried DP 2 and DP 3 by itself without the switch and see if it works.

For the swtich, can you provide a link to it.

Yes Ive tried DP2 and 3 alone

Also note that the switch must be connected to the monitor to light up, but the monitor itself doesn't require any power

Reference 1080 and most 1080 has the following outputs
1x DVI, 1x HDMI, and 3x DP.

That switch you link uses HDMI, plug that directly to a HDMI port instead of using DP.

I'm using a DP to HDMI cable, as my monitor only has hdmi

err.... from the GPU it goes DP to HDMI which then goes HDMI to HDMI switch port then Switch to HDMI

Hope that clears the confusion up

What 1080 do you have and does it have a HDMI port. YEs then use the hdmi port

Gigabyte Extreme Gaming Waterforce 8GB

Indeed I could use the HDMI port, but that still doesn't explain the issue with DP2 or 3 which is what I want to find and solve

It's either not compatible or there may be something wrong with them. Try testing DP 2 and 3 without the HDMI swtich and see if you get any signal to your monitor.

I've tried without the switch and no luck :(... I have a feeling from a different post it could be windows related, but I tried to do what they say but I just can't do it on my system.

Thanks for your input tho :)

You mentioned you have a DP to HDMI cable. is your monitor HDMI. Plug cable directly from your GPU into your monitor and see if that works with DP 2 and DP 3.

So DP2 and 3 isn't working at all. The PC has to be off first. Monitors are plugged in, then PC turns on so it detects correctly.

Some other options can try out is, remove the card and plug it back in or try another PCIe x16 slot (if your board has them).
