To be cheap, Microsoft Sidewinder is an exellent choice! Logitech released a new line of gaming peripherals. Corsair, Razer, and Steel Series anre expensive yet topline in my opinion.

Subjective. All of these people are wrong, what are you looking for in a keyboard? Macro keys? Backlight? Audio/USB passthrough?

For a keyboard with excellent backlighting options and build quality - Ducky Shine 2

For a keyboard with USB passthroughs and backlight - Coolermaster Storm Trigger

For a keyboard with uncompromised tactility of blue switches - Metadot Das Keyboards

For you specifically, you may need to wait for Coolermaster's (Unconfirmed) upcoming line of white keyboards with backlight, as there is no backlit mechanical keyboard with a white theme at the moment AFAIK.

As a recent user of mech KB's, best advice I can give you is to try it out yourself. Mainstream brands like CoolerMaster, Logitech, Corsair, Thermaltake, etc do have some pretty nice mech KN's, but mech KB aficionados will point you to Ducky, Filco, DAS, WASD, Topre, etc. Anyway, it sounds like you're new to mech KB, so here's a nice heads-up on the various switches and such, I found the first two posts to be quite informative)...

I own a CM Storm Trigger and have to say it is one of the best keyboards dollar for dollar when you take into account its full keyboard layout, two usb hubs, and fantastic build quality.
And if you can get it for 70$ it's even tastier. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823129011

If they had a black body with white keys I'd be sold
