So I've been trying to get into the Folding@home stuff, and I've been having some issues. The FAH web connecting thing won't connect to my client. At first my client wouldn't even connect to the FAH servers, but I fixed that by changing some firewall settings in Windows, but it still seems that no outside sources can reach my computer for FAH. I have a DDWRT router, and haven't really ever been able to set up any sort of port forwarding, which I assume is the problem, because canyouseeme.org always says that the port (36330) is closed... How on earth do I set this up so it works?

FYI - can you surf the internet on that PC? If you can - that is it - you never need to open any ports on your firewall or the windows one to get FAH to work. This is because all communications are initiated by the client. Not externally. The only time you hear about us opening local PC ports, is for things like HFM to monitor.

Can you get to:

Testing Access to FAH Work Servers

On the client system, simply try browsing to http://assign.stanford.edu:8080/and http://assign.stanford.edu:80/. Both pages should come up saying OK. This helps confirm that at least you can get to the work servers from your client.
