don't forget about your $300 X399 motherboard

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

also power consumption, if you are somehow in a apartment or something where power is flat price regardless of consumption and you could find a reasonably cheap x399, yeah threadripped could be fun, but even if you find a reasonably priced board if you are paying for power you're likely to notice

ontop of that you'd likely want to be running quad-channel ram, so 4 good sticks, with 2700x you could just get 2 good 8gb sticks
