Hello all, I'm hoping someone may be able to shed some light on an ongoing issue I've been having that is proving quite frustrating. Over the last two months I have started getting random DP Signal Lost messages on both of my new AOC 32 inch monitors. The problem seems to have started around the time I've gotten them, however I do not believe it is the monitors in this case (reasoning below).

SYMPTOMS

  • Both monitors will lose DP signal at the same moment while the computer is running and in Windows.
  • Occurs seemingly at random. Sometimes after hours, others after minutes, rarely after days of gaming.
  • Brief lag before it happens when gaming (3 seconds or so) then both monitors go black and display DP Signal Lost
  • Mobo code stays at AA or "everything is okay"
  • Reboot of monitors, does not restore signal
  • Reconnecting DP cables does not restore signal
  • PC is unable to "wake up" by normal means
  • Hard reboot is needed to restore video signal

COMPUTER SPECIFICATIONS

  • Intel i7 4820k over clock at 4.7GHz
  • ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition x76 Mother Board
  • 32 GB Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR3 RAM 2133 MHz (4 x 8GB)
  • Corsair Hydro H105 CPU cooler
  • Corsair RM 850 Watt PSU (new)
  • MSI RTX 2080 Gaming GPU (new)
  • Windows 10 Pro
  • 32 inch AOC C32G1 Curved VA Panel 1920x1080 1ms 144Hz Monitors

WHAT'S BEEN DONE SO FAR

  1. Replaced monitor power cables
  2. Replaced monitor DP cables
  3. Replaced surge protector
  4. Used different power outlet
  5. Updated monitor drivers/firmware
  6. Manually set both monitors to DP rather than Auto
  7. Adjusted both monitor power saving settings
  8. Disabled Freesync
  9. Tried using HDMI connections (returns HDMI signal lost)
  10. Used only one monitor at a time (fully disconnected second monitor - did this for each)
  11. Changed Windows 10 power options and disabled sleep and hibernate modes.
  12. Set power modes to performance
  13. Updated Nvidia Drivers
  14. Ran DDU and Reinstalled Nvidia Drivers
  15. Re-seated all hardware including RAM
  16. Flashed and updated BIOS
  17. Disabled fast boot
  18. Removed over clock
  19. Reinstalled Windows 10 Pro
  20. Ran Windows Memory Test on installed RAM which returned 0 issues
  21. Replaced PSU (previously used a 4 year old Corsair AX 1200, replaced with new RM850 listed above)
  22. Re did all power connections with new PSU cables
  23. Replaced GPU (previously used a MSI 1080)

WHY I CURRENTLY DO NOT BELIEVE IT IS THE MONITORS

  • Both monitors were used on a second computer and function without issue for multiple weeks.
  • Both monitors simultaneously give DP Signal Lost at the same moment, not just one.
  • On testing, each monitor is having the same issue when it is the only monitor connected to my PC.

IN SUMMARY

I'm sorta at my wits end. I'm running out of things to try and fear this may be a motherboard issue. As you can imagine, finding a decent LGA 2011 Mobo is not cheap or easy any more and I'd rather not do an entire rebuild right now (although I'm already half way there as it is).

If anyone can think of anything I may have missed trying, please send help.
