What is the real difference between chipsets?

I am more curious about b450 and x570 chipsets.

 

I just saw the all new processors, like the ryzen 3950x and all of the videos are recommending x570 premium motherboards.

 

But what is going to happen if somebody pairing a 3700x or even a 3950x with an asrock b450 steel legend, or msi bazooka v2 motherboard? Will be the difference even noticeable?

Either you lose performance if you run stock, or VRM cooks itself.

well, lower end boards tend to have a lower end power delivery system for the CPU.

so if you get a high end chips with lots of cores, your low end boards might not be able to deliver enough power.
