Gaming Build

blkfry

Hey,

I'm new here and need some help with planning a new build I intend to buy in the next couple of days that I intend to use mostly for gaming.

Here are some key points:

- The budget is about 1600 USD dollars max. (not including case)

- I don't need any monitors, already have one and will use the PC to connect it to a 4k TV

- I have a couple of SSDs in my old build, will probably move them over (SATA ones)

- I didn't decide on a case yet, it doesn't matter that much, It must fit in a tight spot in the desk 47cm D, 50cm H, 22cm  (it has good airflow don't worry)

This is my initial build:

I will probably won't upgrade the build and intend to use it at least 5 years. Maybe I will put an extra RAM or Cooler, but won't replace major parts.

I went with 3700x because I herd it has a decent CPU cooler, and I don't have the budget for a custom one now.

I'm not sure about the GPU.

Any suggestions?

USD or CAD ?

Wait until Black Friday.

The GPU is good.

Everything looks good but change the PSU with this one https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/bqVD4D/corsair-rmx-2018-550w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-cp-9020177-na

The Focus Plus Gold FX have some issues.

I saw other people recommending it.

https://www.teamgroupinc.com/en/product/mp34 5 years warranty and better speed, seems OK to me :)

I agree on the B450.

I didn't downgrade it, Focus FX is tier D while Capstone is tier A.

Yeah I recommended the RM550x then I saw the Capstone in the same tier for like half the price :P

Nah G3 has issues too (tier D also).

True but some people reported issues even though mine works properly.

issues? How? Once again they are exact same drive but different stickers (i think sabrent looks better) and packaging (sabrent packaging is so sexy). Whos having issues? Mine all work fine.

The Corsair MP510, Inland Premium, Mushkin Pilot, and Sabrent Rocket are all identical drives. Phison E12 controller and (iirc) Toshiba 64L nand.

Rmx has double the warranty of capstone so imo corsair has double the faith. Thats the sale for me and i would never risk it when it comes to power supplies.

Thanks for the help, I just need to see if the parts are available once Black Friday hits.

But is a 550 watts power supply enough?

550w is enough for a 9900k+2080ti OC so you are fine don't worry :)
