I have an older alienware with an i74702mq

im having an issue with cooling.

I resently changed the battery in it and now the system doesnt turn the fan on at all.

In the bios the fan say is spinning but its totaly not

I downloaded "fan control" and if i crank that to 100% the fan will turn on full blast however anything below 100%=no fan spin

would this be related to the new battery   i didnt buy cheap I got an oem from dell

i also tried flashing the newest bios with no help.

normaly it wouldnt be a hug deal but 1 it kills the battery quicker and im in classes with it and haveing a fan going all mad man has cause some comments =/

ideas?

Could be a Dell tech support question.

I am going to randomly guess that it may have had to do with the changing of the battery rather than the battery itself.  Something either got completely unpowered and reset, or something got jostled in the swap.  Not very useful I know. :/

If it is a problem caused by the power down of a battery swap you won’t be the only person it’s happened to though.

Dell may know.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
