Thank you. That seems to have done the trick. :)

no problem i had the same issue a few months ago. Be sure to mark solved.

Hi. Today I decided to reinstall GTA Episodes from Liberty City from steam cause i got tired of waiting for V to come out :(  And for some reason the game will only run at 800X600? I am unable to change any of the graphic settings in the game menu? I know the problem cant be my hardware cause i have a HD7970 and a 3570k, and is running everything else fine.Anyone got idea of what could be wrong?

Thanks

is there a launcher? And did you see a option to change the screen ratio? ya know 16:9 and what not.

There isn't a launcher it just goes straight into the game. There is a screen ratio option though it is set to auto and won't let me change it

This game is old yea, but not THAT old, it supports whatever res you want as far as i know.

Anyways you could try setting the res from outside the game. The config file for settings is coded and can't be tinkered with but try this:

1) Create a new .txt document in your GTA IV folder (Where the GTA IV.exe is) named "commandline.txt"
2) Open the file in Notepad/preferred Txt editor and add the following lines:
-width 0000
-height 0000

Replacing the "0000" with the resolution you want to set.
Save the file and you're done/

btw you can edit more stuff through "commandline.txt". You can check this link if you want http://gtaforums.com/topic/397064-frequently-asked-questions/#entry1058959070
