The time has come for me to get more storage due to my growing steam library among other things I keep on my laptop, the smallest drive in my laptop is the boot m.2 ssd that came with it, it's presently 512 gb, I have the one I want on my list of stuff to get over black Friday. Now the question is, I know that I am going to have to copy windows to the new m.2, I have a says ssd in my laptop so should I just image windows to that drive then put it back onto the newer one once I get it? Or is there a better way? And while I'm on the subject, I recently have my old nitro 5 to a friend and I told him that at some point I'll hook him up with with a larger m.2 ssd however, if anyone here has read my previous posts, you'll know my her ribbon clip gave up the ghost and split in two, so how should I go about dealing with moving windows to the larger ssd in that case? Any help with either of these issues will be greatly appreciated!

You will need a disk cloning software if you do not wish to re-install everything.

I use Norton Ghost 2003, but Acronis makes some nice software, as well as one called Clonezilla.

Clone your existing drive to a spare one, slap in the new larger drive, and clone back to new drive.

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.
