Greetings,

I'm looking to upgrade my setup, currently I have a pc with these components:

GTX 1060 3GB

CORE I3 8100

16 GB RAM

B360M MOTHERBOARD

I am having a bit of trouble looking If I should upgrade both my GPU and CPU, or should I just upgrade my GPU and get a 144 hz monitor, currently having a 60hz one.

the big question is what kinds of games you play.

your CPU is very underpowered so you would probably not hit 144fps even with a faster GPU.

overall id say you should get a new CPU first, then a GPU and only then it makes sense to go for a 144hz display.

Neither of these cards will achieve high refresh in AAA games or anything heavy. The 1660ti will save you money but 2060 will help in "other" games, hard to say without exact games. Look at getting AMD freesync or just a model that works with gsync if you get either card. If you just want the high fps for competitive/esports go 1660.
