AORUS NVMe Gen4 SSD Performance Issues

Aeroworks

I have a AORUS NVMe Gen4 SSD that doesn't seem to be performing as good as it should be.  Not sure where to start troubleshooting This. Is their something I should have set in the bios? The only option I could find in the bios was setting the m.2 slot to "Gen 4", which it is set to. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Motherboard is Asus crosshair hero viii

How much free space does the drive have? Also set the chunk to larger than 1GB and ensure you have your motherboards latest BIOS.

Drive has 487 free of 1tb. Latest bios is installed for ssd and asus bios.

Here is the ssd bench with 5GB selected:

I'm also running the same m2 gen4 aorus 1tb thinghy and also facing some performance issues, hence how I got here... Running on a Aorus x570 Ultra, ryzen 3700x, running bios f6b.

The only thing I found was to try turning the Write-back cache on and off. You can do this via drive settings - policy.

Here are my Benchmarks @ 1GB

Do one more test with ATTO. Double check to ensure the link speed is PCIe 4.0 x4 with Crystal disk Info.

Hi, here are the results in ATTO, pretty much the same-ish. I've got no idea how to check the link speed.

(Running a x570 aorus ultra, I've even updated bios to f10c :( )

Ok ... So I've fixed it ... just by moving the M2 on the Motherboard

From the last slot on the mb to the first one, right under the CPU ..

It's sad cause Gigabyte says that all 3x m2 slots are gen 4 ... which, apparently, is an overstatement ..

Later Edit : Decided to run atto, noticed smth wierd in the write speeds :( ...
