ryzen 7 3700x

hey guys and gals.

 

i have a ryzen 3700x and its not hitting its 4.4ghz like its meant too. it always hit 4.2ghz, highest its maybe gone is 4.21

 

does anyone have a solution to this?

 

MoBo: Aorus x570 ultra

BIOS: F10a

RAM: Trident g.skill 3200mhz (overclocked to 3600mhz) 16gb (2x8gb)

4.4Ghz is max single core boost speed - not something it will do when you're using multiple of its cores.

Only way to achieve 4.4Ghz across all cores is by overclocking and hoping your chip can reach these speeds (I don't know what kind of OC frequencies are normal on that chip).

no 3700x under normal cooling can hit 4.4ghz all core that I have ever seen. Mine I cant get above 4.2 all core at 1.35v

From looking online, a lot of people only seem to manage to get an overclock of 4.2 - 4.3 GHz on all cores. This means you may end up sacrificing some single core performance if you choose to pursue overclocking this CPU.

 

It seems like these CPUs are already close to their limits when you get them.

Just overclock that CPU, I didn't bother trying PBO + Auto OC, I'd manually OC'ed mine using Ryzen Master for all core 4.475Ghz at 1.3875v.....haven't tried going higher though. 

 

At OP, what kind of cooler are you using? I have a Tt Water 3.0 360 AIO....
