PC Upgrade! (Used parts only)

My current specs are as they stand:

FX - 8350 Black Edition CPU

MSI 970 GAMING AM3+ motherboard

16GB DDR3 RAM

MSI R9 380 4GB GPU

EVGA 650GS SUPERNOVA PSU

 

Im planning to upgrade, as this from the start was quite flawed. I was thinking of an i5 4690k/i7 4790k?

- I want to stick to DDR3 "age" hardware, as its too much to upgrade to the newest DDR4 stuff.

- For my GPU i was thinking of a 980 Ti, since im playing at 1080p, and not planning to change my monitor for another year or two.

- For games i generally play your run of the mill triple A titles, just cause, battlefield, etc

- I've used a TDP calculator to gauge if my PSU is good enough, says the recommended TDP is 552W, anyone with a 980 Ti can help me out?

- Do you think i could make any money back on the throwaway components? (Possibly sell a CPU + mobo combo? GPU?)

- Lastly, what are the best sources for used parts? Im in the UK, so as of now i've just been looking through ebay, but if theres any wholesale sites or anything that i can purchase of that'd be useful.

Your psu is good enough.

Yes the 980ti would be good or either 1070 used or 1060 6gb used.

Get ryzen 5 1600 or i5 8400 used.

And some cheap mobo.

 

Because you play 1080p you should get better cpu.

You could sell your other components. The gpu, mobo, ram and the cpu could give you 400bucks at max.

 

But since you eanted to stick with ddr3 

Get the i7 4970k and 980ti or 1060 6gb

Doesn't seem to be anything on scan, just shows up with newer stuff when i type in the older stuff. Same with amazon, i mean, unless i wanna buy a 980ti for retail :)

try to find 1060 6gb, 1660, 1070 or 980ti used on ebay and be patient with amazon
