Looking KVM solution? with vga & digital

Looking for a hardware KVM solution. I don't want any video degradation due to streaming a software KVM's over a network.

Monitor that will be used - Dell 2405FPW (https://www.amazon.com/Dell-UltraSharp-2405FPW-24-inch-Widescreen/dp/B000BKV26A/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=dell+2405fpw&qid=1572877385&sr=8-1)
I want to use the DVI-D and D-Sub ports, but for more port info, https://www.cnet.com/products/dell-ultrasharp-2405fpw/specs/

2 machines
1) old Gateway cx210x laptop (circa 2005) (http://www.notebookreview.com/tabletreview/gateway-m285-convertible-tablet-pc-review-pics-specs/)
2) new HP Omen 15-dh001nr (circa 2019) (https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/omen-by-hp-15-dh001nr).

Gateway only has 1x D-Sub (VGA) output - ( i might be open to the idea of a converter upgrading the VGA if this will work with the KVM )
Omen has all digital outputs (HDMI, miniDP, TB3) - (don't want to downgrade the signal)

Would my only option be a dual head KVM? Looking for recommendations as well.

I'm not convinced by these so I am open to other suggestions. You all here are the last I talk to before taking the plunge to test these devices. I found these 3 KVMs, but the reviews concern me. Although, with "free returns", I might take the dive to test them, but I wanted to first read what LinusTechTip followers think.

I may just upgrade the VGA signal with a converter to HDMI so then can use a single head HDMI KVM.

 

Do ya'll think a vga-hdmi converted signal on the KVM input work out? Anyone have experience doing this?
