I'm planning on building a new PC from scratch and need some thought/suggestions on my choice of components for the build.

The main usage will be gaming. Also thinking of futureproofing so i can use it for a long period of time with no replacement required if possible.

I don't plan on using any components from my old pc as I'm giving it away to my nephew.

FYI I'm from Singapore thus the pricing is based on the Singapore Computer Store.brochure.

My choice of components for the new build is as follow:

image.png.7f0d0f008fcc222587555b9f913b4a3c.png

So i would like if there are any incompatibility or fitting issue. And perhaps any recommendations for an alternative component if available.

Appreciate any assistance!

If you're getting a locked processor, go with something like a U14S. You don't need a D15.

Same with the motherboard, you can get a cheaper model.

@dizmo

Thanks for the reply!

Unfortunately Singapore based shop dont sell much of Noctua products.

Even the one store i found which sells noctua coolers sells only the D15 or U12s for $99. Another alternative i had for cooler is Cooler Master MA410M for $90.

What's a good alternative for the motherboard?

I initially chose Aorus Ultra cause most sites like PCgamer chose this motherboard as "Best" option.

I dont have much knowledge in terms of PC building thus i reply most on the recommendations by website.

I dont plan on overclocking & will be using the computer as it is. Budget wise around $3k? If can get lesser with good quality than that will be better ?

If you go with the processor that you cant overclock go for cheaper cooler. Not the stock tho.

Get cheaper mobo. If you dont know what mobo to get, look for the "cheaper" ones what support your processor. I would mainly go with ryzen 7 3700 or ryzen 5 3600x.

Would change the processor to ryzen 7 3700. The motherboard to asus rog strix b450 gaming-f.

The 2070 to 5700 xt red devil oc.

The ram will go with the ryzen.

The storages are decent.

Psu is good enough.

Your country is ridicilous with case pricing.

Get that noctua for ryzen 7 3700 or with the i7 9700 get cheaper one.

@Herman Mcpootis

Intel Core i7-9700 (Non-K). I would be utilizing it well if i had bought the K.

So my options were Intel Core i7-9700 or Intel Core i7-9700F. Still not really use which is better though...

I just selected what i thought was good and had concerns in terms of compatibility and fitting lol

@SavageNeo

Haha i know right! Anyway i've calculated with your recommendations and its cheaper by $220.

Thing is I'm more comfortable with Intel Cpu & Nvidia graphics and am actually thinking of sticking with these 2 brands. HOWEVER, not like im actually knowledgeable in terms of it capabilities and such. Just comfortable....

For cooler, if going even lower than Noctua U12s and Cooler Master MA410M, then is Cooler Master Hyper 212 LED ($35) considered low enough?

no need for the Z390 ultra then, just get a decent B360/B365 board. the 9700F is the same as the 9700 but doesn't have an iGPU. the 212 LED will be good enough to cool the 9700/F.

Nah, get the noctua one then :).

BTW ore the prices in euros bc that mobo cannot be 700euros, in my countru its 200 euros.

Make sure the mobo is already bios updated so it supportss ryzen (ask the seller) if its not buy x570 mobo or look for other cheap mobos with support of ryzen 7 3700x

And if you dont oc get the non x version with even cheaper and look for benchmarks beetween ryzen 7 3700x and i7 9700k they are pretty similar exept ryzen 7 3700x has 8 more thread meaning better rendering, lower usage in games and its more "future proof". I have the ryzen 7 3700x and its amazing.

@Herman Mcpootis

Thank for pointing this out. Took a while to read the difference between the motherboards models. Think I'll splurge a little and go for a z370 mother board as wanna futureproof it as much as possible.

Below is based a shop's price, comes together with Intel I7-7900F. They dont sell the normal i7-7900.

Do you have a specific motherboard in mind? Currently i use Gigabyte but wouldnt mind going for other brand's motherboard if recomended.

@SavageNeo

No no. Pricing are based on my currency SGD. So around 470 euros for the motherboard u mentioned. I'll think this through before deciding on purchasing so MAYBE MIGHT go for Ryzen since cheaper and performance wise on par. Yeah thinking of futureproof, one of my main for making this computer.
