https://www.amazon.it/Viper-Steel-4000MHz-Performance-Memory/dp/B07KXNGWRF   patriot 108€   CL19-19-19-39

are the gskill really better and why? or that's just marketing?

Different brands, one has RGB... That's it really. One is overpriced for pretty lights.

EDIT: Seems like pretty much all of the Patriot RAM is just kind of cheap on Amazon in your country at the moment, including the RGB stuff.

What motherboard will you be using? As nog all boards support 4000mhz ram.

MSI B450 Pro Gaming Pro Carbon AC | AMD Ryzen 2700x  | NZXT  Kraken X52  MSI GeForce RTX2070 Armour | Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4*8) 3200MhZ | Samsung 970 evo M.2nvme 500GB Boot  / Samsung 860 evo 500GB SSD | Corsair RM550X (2018) | Fractal Design Meshify C white | Logitech G pro WirelessGigabyte Aurus AD27QD

Patriot Steel has flimsy heatsinks which often fall off, and even if they stay in place they don't help much.

GSkill Trident's heatsinks are considerably better, although not as good as Team XTREEM heatsinks.

Unlike 2133-3000 MHz DDR4, 3200 CL14 and higher DDR4's heatsinks are there not just to look beautiful, especially 4000 19-19-19-39 kits.

VIper Steel will be fine if you attach a fan somewhere nearby to cool them, their price is really good.

What motherboard and CPU do you have?

I mean.. if you are spending the money on 4ghz ram, and a 3700x, perhaps grab a X570 board which supports 4ghz ram. I believe the B450m doesn’t support above 3466, and not sure if adequate Vrm cooling for the Cpu.

Afaik the ram speed depend on cpu not motherboard, i'm wrong?

My problem with x570 is there is about size, i must have a matx mobo and the only x570 matx is from asrock, and i've read bad reviews on that mobo

The RAM speed depends both on the CPU and the motherboard, but Zen 2 has shown that many of the previous gen (X370/X470, etc.) boards were quite capable in memory overclocking.

Most of the boards worth mentioning has been reviewed already, so just use a web search to find what you need.

Check out Buildzoid's videos regarding Zen 2 memory system and memory OC. Most of the tech youtubers have done videos on memory OC for Zen 2 as well.

From a performance pov, Zen 2 does not benefit from the memory speeds higher than 3733-3800 MHz due to having to switch the IMC to 1:2 divider at higher mem clocks.

There is still some sense in buying a higher speed memory, since you'll be able to downclock it and tighten the timings (again, see memory OC videos).
