Hello, I need some help. Had an old 2.5 Toshiba hdd (320gb), wanted to give it to my grand mother as an external drive, I bought a cheap 2.0 hdd enclosure because she has an old dualcore pc without any usb 3.0

On my laptop and pc I can see it as a drive, but it's not working with her samsung tv and old pc. I tried a clean format, different hdd, nothing happened, the results are the same its working on my pc but not with the TV.

UPDATE:

1. tried clean format ntfs, exfat none of them worked on the old PC and TV

2. looks like its a power issue, if I'm adding some power on the second usb it's working with the TV

how can I solve the power issue? any idea?

thanks

Plug her PC into your monitor, see what happens. I seriously doubt it's the TV's fault, but stranger things have happened.

I assume you've also gone into Computer Management and then Disk Management, to see what shows up? Perhaps the drive letter conflicts with an existing device (CD-ROM) and as such isn't showing up because of that

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.
