"Reboot and Select proper Boot Device"

Go to solution Solved by Elia,

Thank Guys but it turns out WintoFlash didn't properly make the flash drive 'bootable'. I had to do it manually through command prompt.

Specs:

AMD Sempron 145

4GB Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz RAM

320 GB WD Hard Drive

2x MSI R9 270x

Seasonic 550RM

So, I'm trying to install windows through a 4gb flash drive. I've tried it several times with other computers and it worked fine. With this new rig, it keeps telling me " Reboot and Select proper Boot Device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key".

I've check the BIOS, everything is fine. It detects everything, CPU and GPU run around 25 degrees.

I've taken the ssd out the laptop I'm using it right now with windows 7 ultimate 64bit and right after saying "Starting Windows" by 2 seconds, the blue screen comes up. "Windows has detected a hardware problem...etc".

Can anyone tell me wth is going on ? And please tell me how can I make it work ?

Thank You in advance.

I think you are taking the wrong approach by using the SSD from your laptop.

If your USB stick isn't working, you may need to find an alternative.

One other thing I can suggest is flash the BIOS on your MOBO and try the USB stick again.

If that doesn't work, then you may need to download the .iso file and use IMAGE BURN software to burn to a disk.  Then install the OS via disk.

Are you really using dual MSI R9 270x with a Sempron...?

Sorry...that was off topic...

Make sure in the BIOS under hard drives you prioritize the USB as one of the hard drive boot devices. Some mobos will put it as USB device, others as a hard drive, you just gotta make sure that if it is posted as a hard drive, it's seen under the correct device (should be able to select the USB from there). Also, what mobo?

Yes. For mining. Not gaming.

For future reference, Microsoft has a tool of its own to make a USB drive into a bootable Windows installation drive.
