Difference in picture quality

There is no inherent change in picture quality between GPUs. They all putput the same pixels

Sup bros,

I have a couple of questions. In the same game, under all the same graphics presets, will there be any difference in the picture quality between an nvidia and an amd graphics card? (without considering ray tracing)

Is any one inherently superior in picture quality than the other? 

Should FPS really be all we look at to compare the performance of once card with another?

Amd has their new image sharpening. If you look very close you could see a change in quality. The performance depends in price. The 5700 xt is priced on par with rtx 2060 super, but 5700xt is on rtx 2070-2080 level. But if you eant to spend more you could get rtx 2070 super which is rtx 2080 in a nutshell. But rtx 2070 super will perform +-10 fps in games.

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.

I was watching this video earlier, and around 4:30 he says something about Nvenc, can you please explain what that is? I'm sry im new to this

Nvenc refers to the encoder/decoder the GPU uses. it can be used for streaming among other things. 

 

old Nvenc of pascal and gtx 1650 and older is decent and similar to VCE which is what AMD uses on their GCN cards. 

 

new Nvenc on turing cards above the 1650 have perticularly good encoder. the endocer AMD uses for Navi, known as VCN has potencial, tho im uncertain how good it has gotten.

nope. 

 

it can affect the output quality of a stream. thats where the new Nvenc encoder shines. VCN has had some issues and VCE and old Nvenc are kinda "eh"

 

edit: all are good enough for a casual stream at 720p.

appears to be a bug with the rendering with the AMD card that shouldnt be present in normal use. first time ive seen that one. 

 

shaders should work as normal. probably a oneoff or something is wrong with the setup used

 

checking comments it seems there was a settings error that wasnt corrected when swapping GPUs. you wont encounter this as a normal user.
