Where do I download the OS? (I looked on microsoft website) I dont have an optical drive. And i need better detailed instructions. (tell me as if I dont know what a computer is)

Will the bios open automatically the first time I start the computer?

(this will be my first build)

Windows 7

Windows 8

To enter the bios when you turn on your computer something will tell you what to press at the bottom of the screen. It's usually F2, F10 or delete. Then somewhere in there you want to find boot priorty and put the usb section first, cd/dvd second, hdd third. When you do that save and exit, then it will restart your computer, should detect the usb stick. Alternatively if you can't get that working there is another function key you can press to manually boot from the usb stick. It will say what key to press for boot order down at the bottom on the opposite side of what key to press for bios. Then just choose the flash drive and windows will start to install.

Another option is to just buy an external dvd drive and plug it into the usb port and boot from that.

You put the disc in. It guides you along the way, you enter your product key. You're done. It's not hard.

You insert the disk, keeping everything the disk came in, and follow the directions on screen. Make sure you put it on the right drive. Find your product code and know where it is because it will ask for that at some point.

Uber detailed

Well I mean there isn't anything to do. Unless you're completely illiterate that you need me to tell you every single button to press, in which case you shouldn't even be attempting this if it is that difficult for you.

I failed to do so on step 5? Do I have a higher risk to get viruses?

your entire system is now corrupt you have to send in each and every part to get fixed

HOW DO I DO IT WITHOUT AN OPTICAL DRIVE is what I meant. Nobody is that dumb. (i hope not)

You download the os and install it to a flash drive. Then set the boot priority to flash drive first, then optical drive, then hard drive in the bios setting. Microsoft has the download on their website you use for whatever os you're going to install.
