M.2 SSD Not Being Detected

I installed an Intel M.2 PCIE x4 into my motherboard (ROG String Z370-e) and I cannot get it to detect.

This is actually my second one because I figured the first was dead.

I have gone into the Bios and set it manually to run as PCIE x4, that did not work either. Any advice?

Not detected in explorer? try win+R, diskmgmt.msc and see if you can see it there at the bottom. If you can, just right click and press "new simple volume" or something like that

Isn't detected by Explorer, Disk Manager or an External tool, MiniTool Partition Wizard.

All I see in the BIOs are my 6 available sata slots. Nothing about the two m.2 slots I have.

Yeah so the new m.2 SSD is inserted into slot M.2_1
There is nothing plugged into SATA5 or 6.

M.2_1 is to SATA_1

So..you can still use port SATA_56 if you're not using M.2_2..make sure nothing in SATA_1...

Just swapped around my inputs and still no dice...

Also x4 mode on m.2_2 disables SATA5/6
