if you are technically incline and know the networking lingo

open

command promt

type "ipconfig"

"Default Gateway" is the ip of your router

type that in your bowser on the PC with the wired connection

that will open up your router settings (you might need to log in, look on the router it self to find the password and username if you don't know those, if you reset it before doing any this it will all be the default)

once you are in

check

         max clients allowed

         ip time out

         ip renewal

         connected devises

things of that nature.

if anything looks fishy let us know and we can help.

Looks old. What Verizon plan do you have? Your router might just be a retard.

I just realized you are 15, please do not ruin your parents stuff, doing a factory reset of your combo modem router, will reset everything and if you don't know how to set it up, you won't have any wifi or anything.

I don't really think my parents care... I have money to replace anything I break, but I'll just learn how to do it.

Your parents will care when you don't have wifi anymore. Also don't go investing a ton of money into your parents networking, your are going to be moving out in 2-3 years. Keep your combo and just turn off the wireless part. Just use it as a switch. And remember it is not your stuff or your house, always consult your parents before you go changing their stuff.

Could I just buy another modem/router combo that's certified by my ISP?
