First proper build: Marici (semi finished)

Hi guys i guess i should start by introducing myself. then the rig!

 

Im Callum or karumu i'm 17 i work as an IT apprentice so minimum wage here! 

 

Most of my money recently has been going towards my pc, as i have been dreaming of making a new rig for over a year now. Now i finally have an income i can make progress towards it.

 

My old rig was a custom build but it was aging rapidly, specs of it were Athlon II X3, Some asus am3 board, originally had a single 4gb module of ram, upgraded that a while back to 8gb corsair vengeance red, had a 1tb hdd, some crappy 750w psu (to be fair never had any trouble off of it.) and for a gpu i had the HD 5770 so not bad for a 3 year old machine, but definitely aged. 

 

So! time for my new rig! some of my parts are already bought and installed but i took pics during the process!

 

Spec currently sit at: 

CPU: amd FX-8350 

Motherboard: Asus Crosshair V Formula - Z

GPU: Radeon HD 7850 Powercolor 1gb edition (ugh not too bad and was quite cheap)

RAM: 8gb Corsair Vengeance red 1600mhz

PSU: Corsair CX430 

Storage: 120gb Samsung 840 EVO SSD boot drive + main games n stuff + Samsung Spinpoint F2 1TB storage drive

Case: Corsair 750D

Cooler: Corsair H100I

FX-8350 under H110 (gonna OC tomorrow)

Corsair Vengeance 8gb @ 1600

Asus Direct CUII TOP R9 270X (gonna buy a GTX 880 or 2 when they come out)

XFX XTR 750W Gold PSU 

Samsung 840 EVO 120gb

Samsung Spinpoint 1tb

 

only new peripheral is a new AOC I2369VM IPS monitor and a Wacom CTL-480 ~Graphics tablet and some White LED's

Nice Build i really like it and I am looking forward to seeing the upgrades but speaking of the upgrades i would go for the RM series PSU

general update / info when i get home from work ill take a snap of my cable management as i forgot how bad it looks with the cutouts without gromets in the previous pictures, will also post a benchmark or 2, just to keep this build log updated, as it will be going for a fair few months! will be about an hour or 2 so make sure you follow to get upcoming updates ^^

ok so small update: i have just put in an order for next week consisting of Corsair 750D + H100i AIO liquid cooler, expect pics of the transfer on saturday :)

 

 

Edit / Update 

 

Picking up the parts today, can't wait to get home and rehouse my rig! should be so much nicer with that AIO too.

Update 2: i thought this was neccessary to put in since it really pissed me off

 

 

SO what happened was last friday i placed an order for my new case 750D + H100i. FIRSTLY the guy ordered the wrong bloody case, and when i went in on wednesday to pick up some thermal paste, he was like "i have your parts ready" and there it was, the C70............. so i asked him to get me the 750D in for today, not such a hard task since he gets next day delivery. 

 

IF HE HAD ORDERED IT THE DAY I TOLD HIM HE HAD THE WRONG THING IT WOULD BE HERE BY NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111!!11!1!! so this guy decided to order it at 8:00PM LAST NIGHT for the 750D so obviously it's not here yet........ I AM SO F*****G IMPATIENT 

 

 

but for the meantime at least i have the H100i to play with in my current case, will post pics tonight, who knows it may get delivered yet... i doubt it though

so got my H100i, installed it in my old case for now, will be getting the 750D AT SOME POINT this guy is messing me around so i shall not be buying off him again, simple ordering of parts is too difficult for him i assume.

Ignore those temps dude. Download HWMON and keep an eye on the CPU and socket temps.

 

Glad your cooler finally turned up. Seems we share the same shitty luck lol.

aye, when i have all my stuff in a couple months, we should do a LAN somewhere, would be pretty fun to take a few days to chill. lol

Update: added a picture of my new case and removed older pics, today i'll be making a custom monitor bracket for my wall, since my Samsung TV / monitor doesn't have one anymore, and i dont want to put it on top of my new case, so will take a few pics of that.

UPDATE: bumping because updated OP with new specs and pics

 

but plans for more upgrades:

new 140mm fans for H110

when the 880's come out in november get one or 2

watercooling parts (will start buying rads and stuff after DH Winter

changed the order. will just be getting the cables and the LED's budget this month didnt allow for 5 fans and extra RAM. since i will be buying an Airsoft rifle aswel. will post a pic of that too... lel

it's gonna be changed to Red LED's pretty soon but im not gonna have them glowing, theyre gonna be on their dimmest setting

oh, do you mean on the desk? theyre just some LED's that i got off a friend for free, 5M of warm white, all i needed was a DC power adaptor :P but tomorrow im gonna be changing the LED's in the case to NZXT Sleeved red LED's
