What RAM specs are important for the systems i am building?

I am building 3 systems out of used parts I have lying around, and I have most of the parts picked.

I want to get the best out of each system but I will admit i don't know much about ram beyond the Mhz and the capacity.

Knowing what to look for will help me pick out the best sticks out of all my ram.

So it it would help to know more about different ram specs, and how they will what is more important for each system.

The first system is going to be going to be a workstation, i think i am going to dual boot it(windows and linux) and i plan to do music creation on it, but i also want to use it to try out different video editing and photo editing programs to try and find one i like.

The second system is going to be a server, it will be a game server sometimes for my friends and i,but i may also use it as a NAS and/or mabye even install plex on it.

The last one is going to be an HTPC that will be streaming stuff from Youtube, Netflix, Hulu, but i will also be doing steam in home streaming, and some PS2 emulation.

Thank you guys for the help.

Will frequency or latency matter much for the other 2 systems?

I'm rebuilding a machine right now and made a comparison between a single stick of 2166MHz RAM I had and the pair of 2666MHz sticks I was going to use, benchmark results were basically within the margin of error, <5% difference.

So going from single channel 2166 to dual channel 2666 made basically no difference, aka no need to care as long as you've got RAM in the quantity you need.

This is on Intel, Ryzen is the opposite and RAM speed matters a lot (see the LTT video about it).

FX is better as a server since it's faster with more cores

As I said before, the first build gets all the highest capacity and frequency sticks, after that the server gets to get its sticks, last will be the HTPC.
