Are there any downsides to this?

More power draw, with ZERO upsides

Hello this may sound a bit stupid but, I am planning on making a new build. My current build is a 6700k and a 1060 6gb. I am planning to move to a 3900x and a 2080ti. As I am planning to use my current monitor with another better monitor, will it be possible if I can also my 1060? The 2080ti will be powering one of those 34 inch Alienware monitors, while the 1060 will be on a 29 inch 1080p lg. I know this isn't needed and I can run both monitors on the 2080ti, but I don't have plans on selling my old pc. Are there any downsides to this? All I can see is the Pcie arrangment, but Pcie 3 x8 is enough so pcie 4 x8 would be plentiful. Maybe the cpu cores won't be enough to split between the cards (if thats how it works) ? I just want some feedback over this choice, because if it is a stupid thing to do I won't do it. Thank you. (Also the 2080ti will be water cooled so thermals shouldn't be a problem?

Power draw won't be a problem. I already have a 1000w power supply so it should be more than enough. About the 0 upside part, so will it just be better to run a single gpu? The only reason I am asking this is the only other places I checked about this from, people said that anything intensive on the second monitor might make the gpu chug a bit. The 2080ti gets 100~ fps at my resolution. I am just worried about the performance, though I don't expect to be running more than chrome on the second monitor and maybe a game now and then. So is the dual gpu valid, or did I just fall for some fear mongering? Thank you for the reply.

too bad the 2080 ti doesn't use PCIe gen 4 so it's still PCIe gen 3 x8

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

define intensive? Even if you're watching a video with hardware decoding enabled, it can't even cost you a frame per second because Nvidia cards' use different parts of the GPU for that. If it's just on some static webpage then the difference is not even measurable. As long as you don't run another 3D app, it's as easy as thinking about food when going to the gym.

By intensive I meant the occasional indie game. I now understand that the 2080ti can handle the dual monitors and I just fell for some fear mongering. Thank you for the help.
