Hi guys,

I recently teamed-up with some friends to upgrade one of our pal's computer as his hardware was terribly old and was dying for some refreshes. I'm talking 10 years-old hardware.

We knew he had a decent power supply (80+ bronze, 600W), case and a cooler - so we bought him a motherboard, CPU, RAM and a GPU + a monitor, as he had this old janky 4:3 screens and it was terrible.

Anyway, without getting too far off-topic - we failed to realize he didn't keep his CPU cooler box - and with that, the mounting brackets for the Intel platform we got for him - went to the bin.

So I need help identifying the cooler make and model so we can get an Intel mounting bracket, as the cooler is actually quite decent and if we cannot source this, that would mean buying a new cooler which we'd like to avoid.

Any help is apreciated. Please see attached pictures. The way the heatpipes finish on the top should have been a dead giveaway for a Scythe cooler, although I haven't been able to find one that matches this one.

The catch is - we don't know if the fan is an original fan, so I wouldn't count on that being any help.

Many many thanks in advance to anyone who recognizes this and helps!

Anyways - I've identified the cooler as Scythe Mugen 3 rev.B

I've emailed Scythe - they're only a stownsthrow away in Germany. Fingers crossed that they have a spare Intel retention bracket!

Thanks to all for looking. Mods, can you please delete?

The back bracket fits beautifully on LGA1151 which is what we need to use it for.

Who/what is Mr Zip Tie?

Thank you for responding!

Sorry I was trying to be edgy, I mean you might have to zip tie it on.

Good Luck and Have Fun!

Forgive me El Guapo. I know that I, Jefe, do not have your superior intellect and education...

Oh .... lol! Didn't think of that.... I was actually thinking about cutting some sort of a metal bracket out of a flat-plate metal material ,...

I emailed Scythe already, as I said - if they don't come back I'll just get some 2mm galvanized steel flat plate and eye-and-cut something hehe
