Satellite internet

Hi,

I am from Iraq, the internet is always slow although we pay more, however due to recent demonstrations government shutdown the internet and when it comes back it is even slower than before to prevent uploading or promoting gathering. I am thinking in satellite internet, are there a standard equipment to be purchased? All what I see is vague and ask to quote offers. Can anyone advise me.

 Here in the US eqpument would be rented from the ISP. As you would also need professional installation due to the fact they have to postion the dish in the right place and pointed in the right direction. Keep in mind at least in the US, Saltelite internet is slow as well. Some times having daily and monthly usage caps. Here companies offer up to 25 Mbps, which is just within the legal deffintion set by the FCC to be considered broadband internet. Also, latency is ultra high on this type of connection.
