wrong memory frequency in BIOS

Ok so we tested the board,so far everything works okay,but as you can see on the picture,memory freq is showing 1867 MHz but 2666MHZ modules of Dominator have been installed.

What is wrong?We put target freq to 2666MHz.

Pretty sure that you need to reboot for the settings to apply.

we did,we reset the bios,plugged out CMOS Battery...same issue.

Did you set memory speed with ASUS DOCP?

try using only one stick. maybe one has an issue

I'm nor pretty sure.A guy went to some option where all memory freq were displayed and then he chose 266MHz saved reset the BIOS and same issue.

What CPU/Mobo are you using? Ram kit part #?

as i am no hardware engineer i couldnt tell you

i do not know if your dimms are known good, new, used, seated snug etc.

i am just saying trying each dimm seperatly, and seeing if it hits 2666 or not may help you to narrow down where the issue may be.

There should be an option for DOCP/XMP, you need to enable that to allow it to post properly. By default, the RAM will post at 1866 or 2133 depending on your board.

Now you reminded me why it's only 1866MHz,must be because CPU limit:

But then again when we first booted the board we got 2333MHz.

Since that chip is not overclockable, you will not be able to achieve an overclock on the memory above 1866 based on Intels locked specs for the chip.

Screw the OC.How much slower complete PC is compared if it were working on 2666MHz memory?

Depends on the use case, but with Intel for gaming, memory speed is significantly less of an impact compared to AMD Ryzen.

Not much in most workloads, especially if you run 4 or 8 sticks in quad channel, it'll make up for the RAM bandwidth loss vs dual channel with higher clocks.

The CPU doesn't care so on Intel rigs it's only a game to game basis (Ryzen actually runs some stuff based off RAM speeds, at least the 1000 and 2000 series, IIRC 3000 series is slightly different but it still matters for CPU performance). Stuff like Fallout 4 and 76 and GTA V (games that use texture streaming from the RAM) see large differences, up to 30fps or feasibly more depending on what two RAM speeds you're comparing, games that don't do this won't see much of a difference at all.

The max support is 2133MHz,right?

That is not much more then 1867MHz,so I'm happy with this Xeon cuz I rather went with 8C/16T then 6/12.

What slots? 1, 3, 5, and 7 should do quad channel, or 2, 4, 6, and 8. Refer to the manual though, you may need to run a specific set of slots if you only have 4 sticks (I do on my X99 Classified), if you had 8 you'd just fill all the slots.

If you've got A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, D1, and D2 then yeah that should be quad channel (check the RAM/memory section of CPU-Z, it'll tell you what channel RAM you're running). The combos A1 - B1 - C1 - D1 or A2 - B2 - C2 - D2 should be quad channel with 4 sticks. Filling all of them with 8 would also run in quad channel.
