I am looking for a good place to purchase cheap used servers. Ideally something that has been surplussed or decommissioned by companies. I am looking on ebay but wondering if there are better options out there to score a good deal? Looking for something that is complete ideally although I am open to parting it out. Thanks in advance for any help!

Ebay, your local craigslist and facebook marketplace are a good place to start. You can also check out reddit's HomeLab Sales as they constantly have deals of older server hardware going around. Also look around for local college/university or government surplus websites. Many larger universities have infrastructure they replace quite often and usually sell all but storage devices for a steal.

I used these guys for 2 of my servers (R710 + R410) all was good and nice to deal with lots of options and fast delivery here in the states
