Can my build be upgraded + Case recommendations

I was wondering if I could upgrade my processor and make my computer faster what would I be able to do with the motherboard and GPU I have. I Am trying to build a better PC for streaming on console and playing some games on the side but I would like to do both with high quality. In the picture I've included it has what kinda things I already have right now. Don't mind the specs being awful, I got the PC on Facebook swap for $200 which included many other things and I got my 1060 GPU for $50 brand new from a friend. I am also looking for a new computer case and some color changing RGB fans and stuff to spice things up a tad

Hey and welcome to the forums!

This PC ain’t so bad! What’s your plans with it? Which applications and games do you want to use at wich resolutions?

It should be nice for 1080p gaming of the most games (some not on full settings) but for the price seems like a killer deal!

cases: I am no expert on those but in general take a look at Corsair and Fractals range! Nice looks for not that much $$

FOLDING MONTH 2021! GOGOGO and save on some heating costs 🙂

also if you aren't using a SSD drive for at least your boot drive, I would.  As for cases, I would just look around and see what you like...Cooler Master and Thermaltake are good cases.

OH I FORGOT!

SSD most important part for general feel of the PC be it booting up or opening P.Hub lol

A decent SSD is no more than around 50$

cases: Not my taste but also nice!

I don't know if I have an SSD as a boot drive lol. I'm new to this PC stuff so IDK how to find that

I would prefer to play most games 1080p 75hz because that's how higher my monitor can go. I am also looking for a way to make streaming more smooth because it seems a bit choppy and I have 1Gig internet

alright! Which games for example? More like Fortnite and lol or more demanding games like Battlefiled or something?

For streaming you def. need a faster CPU. This is presumably why it’s choppy.

your Graphicscard should be fine for not that demanding titles. In more demanding ones you will have to dial back the details a bit and live with under 60Hz (but that’s ok ;D)

Looks like it's just a Hard drive but it's kinda hard to tell with this case

This is the Case I have now that I would like to replace. Preferably with an inverted case if all my components will fit in one

For your Motherboard and platform there are only 4cores available. Now it depends on how much and in wich quality you want to stream. For starter streames you might be of good with a i7 7700 or a i7 6700 (7700 is faster, but when you get a good deal on a 67 get that one. There are also the K variants. They are able to be overclocked. If you’re able to find them cheaper go for it, but with your Motherboard you won’t be able to overclock.

for more and higher quality streaming you need more cores. In this instance a switch to AMD Ryzen would make sense but be expensive.

SSD: Crucial BX500 is fast and nice. If you find a Samsung EVO 850 or 860 or Crucial MX500 for the same price go for those. But the difference is not that high and usualy a 860/MX is like 25% more compared to the BX.

Case: Sorry can’t help you much with that but i recommend not getting inverted and other expensive stuf. First concentrate on performance.

OKKK i did take a look and that case is nice! Keep it :P

Fans: Corsair makes good LED fans. But regarding fans I can only recommend noctua ( they have black ones now) at the high end and noiseblocker at the lowend.

To put it simple: I love Noctua :D

also important question: How much ram does the system have? Dual channel?

I think so for the ram part.

I want to start streaming better in 900p60 (because i am streaming off a PS4) so Is my motherboard good for that?

Roger! Then a i7 7700 /6700 should be enough, since it only has to encode and not to run the game at the same time. That’s were 6,8 etc core machines come in real handy.

8Gigs is ok but an upgrade to 16 would be nice (and is not expensive, used ram is fine)

most important for the beginning: get a SDD
