Hi everyone, first time posting here on LTT forum. I need an advice regarding updating my PC. Im now using an i5 4440 with 12 gb ram ddr3 at 1666 mhz speed paired with a 1060 gtx 3gb (which i regret buying.)

Now, is it worth for me changing CPU,MB and ram? i was thinking to a i5 9400f with a 16gb 2666 ddr4 ram in a b365 chpiset (asrock b365m pro4) . I mostly want to upgrade my pc because i  think i won't run neither Modern warfare or cyberpunk at 1080p at medium settings.

Thanks for your advices!

IMO it makes no sense to go for the i5 9400f.

While it will be an upgrade, it wont be anything meaningful and you will spend a lot of money on a new platform for small CPU performance bump.

You can do a similar upgrade on your platform by picking some used Xeon E3 1231 V3 or E3 1241 V3 for cheap from ebay instead (its basicaly a i7 4770/4790 without the iGPU) and you dont have to change your RAM and motherboard.

You will still be maxing out your graphics card anyways

i5 4690k is the same CPU you have right now just with higher clocks, dont bother.

Get either the i7 4770/4790 or i7 4770k/4790k or the Xeons I mentioned. But if its more than $100, its not worth it.

Avoid 9400f. R5 2600 or others are better choices. Or getting something with HT on the same plattform for less than 100$ would also be a good upgrade choice. Save the extra towards a better GPU.

4c/8t is still fairly good these days.
