So my current Build is a year old. i hate the case, and its a bit messy inside. so ive decided to upgrade it. these are the current specs:

Heatsync: Be Quiet! heatsync

Ram: 2X8gb 3000MHZ Trident Z RGB And 2X4GB Patriot Viper 3000MHZ

GPU: MSI ARMOR GTX 1070 8GB

Storage: 250GB PNY SSD (boot) 4TB Seagate barracuda HDD (Storage)

4 Port USB 3.0 PCIE Hub

Generic RGB Strip

i would like to upgrade to these specs:

Case: Darkflash Phantom

Motherboard: MSI X470 GAMING PRO CARBON

CPU: Ryzen 7 1800X or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X

Heatsync:240mm Darkflash DT240 AIO RGB Liquid COoler

Ram: 4X8GB 3000MHZ Trident Z RGB

GPU: MSI ARMOR GTX 1070 8GB

PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower Grand RGB 1050W dont want to upgrade, but the MSI X460 Gaming Pro Carbon has Two 8 pin CPU Plugs, and upgrading to the next version up of my current PSU will add that extra needed 8 Pin Plug.

Darkflash Phantom

It doesn't look like that case has any airflow, why not just get like an 011 dynamic?

Is there any major reason you need to change your 1800X? Because you could just keep holding out for Ryzen 4000, which should be the last release for the socket anyways.

while i absolutely love the whole front glass thing allowing you to see it from any side, expecially since i hope to move my PC location which would allow a front view to be useful, i like the phantom, and like the height of it as its a similar size to my huge HAF X, where as that is a smaller case like my old prebuilt computer. and being ive already set on the Phantom, i dont want to start looking at other cases and then spending hours searching for a case again. if i ever upgrade my computer again though or do a new build, this will diffidently be on my mind. its a great looking case

As long as you take off the front glass from the phantom the thermals should be fine. Or put a large gap between the front panel fans and the glass.

why does everyone think it will have bad thermals?

Nah a single 8pin plug will do for powering the CPU. This isnt Threadripper, the extra 4pin on AM4 boards are purely for show until you start pouring liquid nitrogen onto your CPUs.

Because there's no space in the front panel for the air to travel inside the case. All tjose fans are just there for show when the front panel sealed them off from outside air

are you sure it doesnt require 8 pin? obviously it doesnt NEED it, as im running it now with 1 8 pin. but if it has 2 and only needs 1, then why does it have an extra one?

is the cooling really that bad on the phantom?

it has an entire top cooling system.. and a little venting in the front on the sides of the glass

the extra 8 pin is for marketing, and maybe if you run a 12 or 16 core on LN2

It doesn't appear to have any real airflow, like this thing, if the top is mesh and not covered by glass it should be a bit better.

Marketing. Just like RGB LEDs, doesn't improve performance, but unlike RGB, much less good-looking.

then know of any similar cases that are Huge like the phantom, yet still solid glass? i have a cooler master haf x and its an insanely low quality piece of shit that i wasted 175$ on. i want something high quality. and while darkflash may not be corsair, its still glass. and will be higher quality then a mostly plastic pile of shit.

Glass =/= quality.

The HAF X is actually one of the nicest/best cooled cases for it's time. I went with a HAF XB though.

the AIO wont fit on the back. that would have to go on the top and the rear fans can be an output. should  the AIO be blowing in, or out?

as for raising the front glass, i probably could. its on big screws, i could just put tiny washers inbetween it or something.

it may be super high air flow, but the quality is shit. both panels were severely warped on arrival, after a year they finally sent me replacements, and the panel came with a ton of scratches. the window is plastic not glass, one of the 5.25" bays was warped and had to be bent to fit a drive in it, and so on.

If you can make the front better for intake you want the AIO blowing out.

Otherwise the fans in the front don't even need to be there as they're blocked by the glass, and you want your AIO blowing in to try and make it the intake.

i guess when i recieve it ill have to see how good it is. i did a build with a full glass case once, and it had some space in the front panel for airflow. based on pictures so does the phantom. 8sd5uwcm.png

The PC-O11 Dynamic has a bigger brother called the Dynamic XL

Also the Tt View 71? There's also an even bigger View 91 if that's what you want, but these are probably just as closed off as a phantom from the front

the view 71 actually looks nice. the view 91 isnt really a thing. 1 listing for it on ebay was like 500$ and it looked nothing like the 71. tomorrow i will check it out more, its defidently an option. it says E-ATX. id assume its compatible with ATX/

That gap needs to be substantial for it to not be terrible

Like the top of this corsair case, those kinds of standoffs.

Their front panel here is also mostly blocked by glass lol.
