Elder Scrolls Online Payment type Discussion

As most of you should know by now to play ESO you will need to spend $60 and then $15/month and I wish to discus with you
i personally think this is asking for to much money, i understand if it is $15/month but it shouldnt make you pay $60 to get the game in the first place. i hope zenimax understand this at somepoint and change it.

I was thinking of starting a petition to request zenimax to remove the $60 perchase fee but im currently unsure on if it will work

Forgot the D.

I don't think it will be a monthly payment, but probably one payment. Unlikely free (IMO).

so you want the D?

I could, but on this occasion I will not take advantage of what you have just created.

I'm calling within a year it'll be free to play, then a bunch of people joined in, a bunch of the pre-f2p players would be really strong then suddenly they release p2w equipment... :P

Check out the build: Used to be Obot, now Lilith

Personally, I'm not a fan of $15 subscription fees because I know I'll eventually take a break from the game, and I don't like the idea of having to fork over $15 somewhere down the line if I feel like revisiting it. But there can be certain advantages of a subscription model, and I can understand why some people might prefer having it (avoiding pay to win, making it less lucrative for bots to spam, etc.)

My problem with what I've read about ESO is that it breaks the one rule I believe all sub-fee games should follow: if I'm gonna pay monthly for your game, none of the content should be walled off from me. I'm fine with paying extra for services like server transfers/name changes, I'm not okay with having microtransactions in a game with sub fees, even if they aren't pay to win.

Additionally, there's fact that an entire race(Imperial) is unavailable to anybody who doesn't pay an extra $15 for the collector's edition. That's just absurd to me. Yes, Zenimax is claiming that they won't have unfair benefits, but each race gets their own line of unique racial abilities. As long as those abilities have utility, I don't think it's possible to claim that unfair advantages aren't present.

Zenimax is just being too greedy, IMO.

honostly im fine with it, but i can tell a couple months down the line they will change to system into eather a 1 time payment, and subscription and give everone who payed the $60 a couple months free, or free to play. Now i dont care if its the first or the second option but if its the last, i will not be happy, i dont want this game to be free to play for many reasons.

1 micro transactions will come into it,

2. all the free toplay kids will come in and rewin it for everyone.

3. they wont be expanshion packs..

That brings me to my next topic, i dont like the expanshion pack idea of having most of the game blocked off and having to buy expancion packs for it, but i understand why they are doing it. They want to put as much time into each area as possible and that mean working on them as expanshion packs.

i dont think they will have micro transactions in the game but i do understand where you are coming from with the stupidity of charging you more to play as an imperial or the ability to be with any faction

this game is verry importent to me, from the beta i can say its fun to play but i hope zenimax understand the wants of the fanbase

Paying 60 bucks for a games is not unreasonable. Zenimax has to be able to recoup some of its funds on investment. Since gamers didn't fork up the estimated 200 mil it took to make the game. I agree with 15 dollar a month sub. Personally based on my gaming experience, having a sub keeps a lot of kids out.

I think the $15/month fee is just too much. They would get a lot more players (including myself) if they removed the monthly fee. Also, if they removed the monthly fee, I would be okay with the inclusion of the legendary edition. If this game is a great as they are selling it out to be, they shouldn't have any problem recouping their investment.

It remains to be seen what kind of microtransactions they will be, but last I heard, they still plan to have them.

As a consumer you have a right not too pay 60 dollars for the games and a monthly sub. Personally if a mmo game does not have a monthly fee and is based on a F2P model. I will not play it or give it much of consideration.
