Help Playing ES2 Daggerfall (DOSBox)

Hello everybody! First post here, seems like a great community. My computer knowledge is very fragmented and varied, you can assume I am total noob status with most PC stuff.

 

I am broke and have been playing a bunch of old and/or free games as of late. I downloaded ES1 and ES2 for free from CNET and am having trouble running the latter. I was able to run ES1 Arena just fine after re-learning how the DOS directory stuff works, but cannot figure out how to play Daggerfall. I have everything extracted in the proper folders but when I try to run the executeable, it says I cannot play the game off the "disk" and that it has to be installed. I tried to run anything and everything with "install" or "setup" in the filename with no success. I have deleted everyhting and redownloaded/extracted the files with no success.

 

Any thoughts on what I should do to get this classic up and running? I am using 8.1 if that matters, but I was able to play Arena which is even older than Daggerfall!

 

Anyway, thanks for looking and double thanks if you know exactly what I need to do!

Hi,

 

Have you tried watching a video on it? It would be easier to help you out if you started out fresh, because then I wouldn't have to wonder if you already did a step or whatnot, but try this;
