Hi I bulit my pc a while back and here are my specs:

asus prime b250m-plus

i5 6600k cooled with be quiet pure rock

gtx 1050 asus phoneix

2x8gb gskill aegis ram

be quiet pure power 11 600watt

1x 5.4k toshiba hdd

1x 7.2k seagate barracuda

and m.2 intel 760p ssd

So my pc was running just fine without any issues until I moved 1 ram stick into B slot on motherboard (before i had both in A slots (A1 and the other in A2)now i have one in A1 and the other in B1) so I have dual channel ram instead of one like before but now Iam sometimes getting failed to post message also I think that it happens only after my pc is not turned on for atleast a day. So what could be an issue here? Also I already tried to reseat my ram and it doesnt help.

Alright , is there anything else that you omitted from your post that you've tried already so we don't sit here recommending things you've already done?

no just tried reseating ram and reseting bios and thats it. and also tried with xmp on and off.

then return the machine to the configuration it was previously in and ignore the firmware fix that was issued to the board regarding the issue you are having

Yeah ill try that and see what happens really confuses me why just moving ram into a diffrent slot coused an issue like that (at least i hope that this is a problem)

what do you mean with that?

As in the issue must have been puzzling before they found the answer to the problem.

He’s bein a smartass

tldr there’s a bios update for your board that supposedly fixes known issues with the memory controller, it’s probably the issue you are seeing

Bios updates are pretty easy these days, usb stick with the update on it, probably a utility in your bios to update it without issue

otherwise just revert to single channel for the sake of stability

ok thanks ill try first with the single channel for a week than ill report back just to make sure its the ram cusing the problems
