ryzen 5 3600 vs ryzen 7 2700x

i am looking to upgrade my cpu and am wondering which would be the better choice because the prices are the same right now on amazonn

this will be paired with a GIGABYTE B450 AORUS PRO WIFI (AMD Ryzen AM4/M.2 Thermal Guard with Onboard WIFI/HDMI/DVI/USB 3.1 Gen 2/DDR4/ATX/Motherboard)

Honestly given you're into this more for hobby I'd say the 3600 is the best choice, better at gaming and *good enough* on video editing.

 

I have done some really long editing on some mlp stuff for youtube back in the day using stuff like an i7 6700 and it was already perfectly adequate you'll have a pretty solid experience.

 

Just ensure you have good memory ^^

 

In a way as prices are looking right now both will end up being the same on the used market at some point.

What kind of content are you editing and what software are you using?
