I want surround for bf4 so I can hear all that is around my (obvious) but I dont know if i will be ok with just the soundstage of the headphones.

Virtual surround sound can be done with software if you really want it, so yes I think you should strive for a headset with a good soundstage instead. The Sennheiser PC 360 is basically an HD 558 with a mic attached (the PC 363D comes with a USB DAC/amp with Dolby "surround sound" if you really want an easy hardware solution for surround sound, but I really think it's a waste of money). The audio-technica ATH-ADG1 is coming out soonish, and will have the best soundstage bar-none, but it will initially be rather expensive (here's to hoping the price drops).

I've done a bit more research and decided to go with seperate headphones and a desk mic( probably snowflake) I found 3 good options:

1. ath ad700x

2. dt 990 pro

3. hd 558

Which would be best for gaming in your opinion?

HD518's are a better value then the 558, so I would save cash and go that route.

The AD700x is the best for gaming, but is dicks for music, as it has no real bass response.

The DT990 might be hard to drive but would be the best of the listed options.

Good choice on the mic, don't bother with the Snowball as it won't be better for most anything you are doing.

If i would get Dt990 i would probably buy Fiio e10 with it also but my question is can I use any of those headset on xbox one with surround?

All those headphones are stereo, which is fine and really all that you need. The E10 will not work with the xbone and if you have a modern tv it has headphone out which you can output to a different amp such as the FiiO E7.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but the xbone doesn't support USB microphones. Get a ModMic if willing, and then you can plug it straight into the controller with whatever headphones you decide on.
