Hi, it’s the third silent loop 240 in this computer that’s 6 months old.

the first one was obv used and sold as brand new. Second made big noise and i figured it was a pump. Both were replaced by amazon. Today i have this behaviour again. Is this really the aio again or am i missing something? Am i really that unlucky?

This particular sound seems to be something uncommon. What I can tell you from experiance is maybe not what THIS is but what could have led to this:

BeQuiet AiOs are very reliable, quiet and efficient IF you do as follows:

  1. The AiOs are filled minimum 95% when they leave the factory. The up to 5% air, which can still remain in the system can cause the pump to make more noise as intended. For that case (and for the recommended refills every 2 years) BeQuiet added a refill-port on the CPU-block. The block and pump is manufactured by Alphacool so you should use Alphacool coolant. Once refilled, both AiOs I owned (the 240 a few years ago and the 360 right now) are simply not hearable! Here`s a tutorial on how to degas/refill a Silent Loop AiO. It`s German but very easy to follow just by watching.

  2. NEVER EVER plug the pump into a header on the MB which is in any way speed-controlled by the BIOS or software. Using the pump with a voltage under 12V can and will damage it! BeQuiet recommends to plug the pump into an 12V connection right an the powersupply. Or you set the speed on the particular MB-header on "high speed", "performance" or whatever it is called (that`s how I did).

I hope you have more "luck" with the AiOs to follow.
