First budget build

Raiden

So it's my first time build and I would love to take a PC which I could upgrade in the future with 1 or 2 parts. Since I can't really upgrade my old PC, I'm getting a new one. I would be content with gaming on 1080p mid settings in games, but would be happy if I could go higher than that. I don't need expensive or flashy cases. Also, how much of a difference would it make if I took cheaper motherboard or PSU?

1. Budget & Location
Okay, so my budget is 800US$. It might go up for 50$ if it really needs to.
2. Aim
So, it's going to be heavily used for gaming.
3. Monitors
I plan on using only one monitor on 1920x1080.
4. Peripherals
Nope.
5. Why are you upgrading?
So, I'm upgrading because I want a better PC than my current.

This motherboard is horrible. I dont know if you could choose more horrible motherboard. And it doesnt even support 8350. Even if it could it would be unstable and dangerous.

I wouldnt even put 4300 on this board.

Are you overclocking?

Cheaper PSU? Well CX 600w would work, but id still pay 10$ more for 550W XFX or so.

You can cheap out on mobo, but depends on cpu and IF you are overclocking.

For example if you take 8320 or 8350, then minimum mobo should be quality 970 am3+ one, downvolting is advisable. There are cheap good motherboards that you can even OC on like Gigabyte 970 ud3(p)

I could tingle with overclocking in the future when my hardware would get outdated or when the guarantee expires.

The PSU is for future upgrades (a 600w one is good if you want), and if you want to overclock a little the 212 EVO will be good. When you have the money you should invest in a SSD.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU:  Intel Xeon E3-1230 V3 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($244.30 @ SuperBiiz)  why not 4670k and overclock? 1. 30$ is only cpu cooler. and it cant oc much anyway. 4.3 i usual overclock. also youd have to pay more for z87. performance wise, its like 4770 without iGPU

info.

http://ark.intel.com/products/75054/

BF4 (HT is used)

http://oi44.tinypic.com/35he1vm.jpg
Motherboard:  Gigabyte GA-B85-HD3 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($84.99 @ Amazon) Not cheaping out on mobo ofc. It supports this xeon, checked.
Memory:  A-Data XPG V1.0 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($32.99 @ Newegg)
Memory:  A-Data XPG V1.0 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($32.99 @ Newegg) 2 sticks of 1600 ram, nothing to say here. cheapest 2x4
Storage:  Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($59.66 @ OutletPC) yup
Video Card:  Asus GeForce GTX 760 2GB Video Card  ($239.99 @ Newegg) 770 is 90$ more, so i said nahhh, those 384 more shading units not worth 40% more money. 760 has 1152 shading units.
Case:  Corsair 400R ATX Mid Tower Case  ($59.99 @ NCIX US) Yup, i decided with this mainly because airflow and quality. 2 front fans included 1 back. Amazing case. Looks ballers too.
Power Supply:  XFX 550W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($49.99 @ NCIX US) I wont recommend CX line of psus -_- Those 10 bucks are not worth the risk, nor the noise, nor quality.
Total: $804.90

Are you familiar with rebate process right?

Is that what you wanted to see of the build? Would you like to change something?

I think this is how I'm going to build it, I would rather go with 4670k, would it be compatible?

I wouldn't change anything else

And thanks to everyone who helped with their suggestions! :D

Also how would 4670k compare to AMD 8 cores CPU?

I think this is how I'm going to build it, I would rather go with 4670k, would it be compatible? Not with that motherboard. You need z87 motherboard if you want to overclock 4670K

I wouldn't change anything else If you want i can try knock down some price or something. Search for alternatives and present to you.

And thanks to everyone who helped with their suggestions! :D

Also how would 4670k compare to AMD 8 cores CPU? Overclocked 4670k is better than overclocked 8350. But at stock, they are the same, given that all cores are used.

Let's say I don't want to overclock because I wouldn't dare to? What would you suggest then?

The price of 800$ is just fine, I might go a little above this.
