Best way to go about cleaning cooler?

I have a cooler master hyper 212 evo rgb black edition and there are a few stains on it, so I removed it and I need to know the best way to clean the stains off, as they are on the fins and not the pipes. Would it be safe to wash it and let it dry for a day, or is there a better method?

Ehh, I've already washed it and it sounds like using a credit card could scratch it
