So been away from PC gaming for a good 5 years but decided to come back now i have a little space,

 

Got a budget of around £1400 for my new PC and was looking at getting the following,

All together on amazon/e buyer that comes to around £1300 so £100 left over, Also got to get the Keyboard and mouse but i will just get the best i can with whats left over,

 

Is there anything im missing, and more importantly is there anything that the community would suggest that i change out from experience, Looking to play most modern game (battlefield, Tomb raider, etc) on as high a setting as i can get.

 

Open to any constructive advice, work with PCs for a living but a gaming PC is well beyond what i work with day to day

get better SSD, WD green is most basic one, I suggest going nvme, also get 3600 and b450, performance wouldn't be that different, always money saved, or go 3700x and get x470 then. Also 2666mhz ram is slow for 2019, get 3200mhz+, best for ryzen

To give a brief explanation, the box Wraith Prism CPU cooler is better than the 212 Evo, no point in spending money to downgrade. The board is a decent step up from B450 and will allow more upgradeability for Zen3 next year. The RAM is self explanatory, the power supply is vastly superior quality wise and the whole system won't really pull more than 300-350 watts. And I've replaced the crappy green and HDD with a 1TB Blue SSD. Monitors are both IPS so better colours and viewing angles for a superior gaming and multimedia experience

Use PC Part Picker. It sorts all online retailers for bigger countries like the UK. Generally, though, I'd say that's the best value for money with the budget. I'd you want to reduce cost a bit, get DDR4 3200 memory and a B450 Tomahawk Max or Strix other than that, it's basically it

tbh i have alittle bit of room on my budget if i need to, an extra £50 now is better than getting something i need to upgrade a year down the line so im grateful for the advice, i will be ordering it soon and will definatly take what you've said on board when i do

CPU - 3600 is solid if you're just gaming

 

MoBo - Gaming Pro Carbon is a steal at 120, but it needs a bios update if you buy it off amazon. Some amazon reviews talk about how people updated to 3rd Gen Ryzen, and there are a few threads on this forum talking about it as well. If you're not comfortable going through that, you could either grab the 2600 or look for a B450 board (Gaming Pro Carbon is nice for heavy 3600 overclocking) that has its bios already updated for 3rd Gen Ryzen.

 

Memory - 3200 and try to oc it to 3600 or just buy a 3600 rated kit

 

Storage - I hate HDDs. Showing both 512GB and 1TB capacities just so you can compare price

 

Video Card - There is very minimal difference between all of the partner cards, I only picked the PowerColor because (1) its on amazon (2) its not a blower type cooler like the reference cards (3) its £400

 

PSU - I'm pretty jealous of the UK's deals on power supplies, you guys are super lucky. 550W, Gold, Semi-modular, reputable brand, under £65, simply perfect

 

Monitor - I'm a personal fan of dual monitor setups. 1 is 144Hz for smooth gaming, the other is 4k for content consumption. I'd pick the 24" 4k monitor if you want it to be the same size as the 144Hz monitor, but I'd pick the 27 incher if you don't care about the size difference and you want a larger screen. (As of now, the larger one is cheaper, for whatever reason)

Get a main 144Hz monitor and a secondary 60Hz one. Also do NOT downgrade to a 2600 or 3600 considering you can comfortably afford much better

Also keep in mind MSI BIOSes are buggy soyou may have to tinker with it more than an equivalent ASRock or Asus

I would not recommend MSI X570. For B450 they have better VRMs so it's easier to stomach the buggy firmware but the Phantom Going 4 will be a far better user experience

You don't need 750W. That's over double what your system will pull. The 5700 is a 220W card. The 3700X is a 100W CPU. At worst you're under 400W for the whole system. Anything past 550 is overkill

Red Dragon is also inferior to the Red Devil and Pulse

Just go with a B450 Tomahawk MAX. There is zero reason to go X570 unless you need pcie 4.0 or wifi 6 etc or plan to get a 3950X. If you are not doing any streaming or content creation etc you could easily drop down to an R5 3600.
