Found one at OLX going for $13. It has 3 x 12v rails at 18A which should be more than enough for the system I intend to build 'eventually' (i5-3570S, Gigabyte H61, 2 x 4GB DDR3 1,333MHz, RX470). For the time being, I'll be running it with a Pentium G2020 CPU paired with 1 x 4GB of RAM and an ancient Nvidia GT440. I'll be making improvements gradually in the near future. I'm a patient / poor gamer so I'm in no rush!

Anyhow, I've a multimeter so I'll check its voltages before making the purchase. I'm just not sure if it's enough. Any input shall be greatly appreciated.

Oh and, if someone has an old 2nd/3rd Gen. CPU and/or DDR3 RAM lying around in the house and want to donate it then I'll be more than happy to accept it!

Thanks.

Oh boy, here come the psu people.

It will do the job fine, in total you're looking at under 250 watts of power draw with peak synthetic load. The face value specs of the tp3-550 are more than enough for that kind of load.

I would of course still recommend saving money for a modern, higher effeciecy and overall better designed unit like any mainstream 500w option, but I understand the constraints of a tight budget.

Itll do what you want and it's a better option than buying a cheap Chinese psu on eBay.
